Maps produced

So far the maps I've been involved in have largely been either in Thetford Forest or Cambridge parks, mostly for CUOC, and futher details can be found on the CUOC maps page. My first experiences of mapping were helping with the 1996 Highlodge Warren and 1997 Bush Heath Woods maps, before taking full responsibility for a whole map two years later. I owe a great deal to Andy Varley, who was my predecessor as CUOC Mapping Officer and is sadly no longer active in the sport, for both useful practical advice and to his array of maps displayed on the wall for inspiration - by my final year at Cambridge I had progressed to a similar wall decoration of my own!

The list of maps below is of all those for which I did a significant proportion of the survey and cartography, not including the first couple listed above where I only surveyed a couple of blocks, or a few others where I made minor updates prior to an event. The base material I have had to work with has varied from relatively recent O maps to nothing more than OS 1:25k. While the previously unmapped areas were most challenging they have also been the most enjoyable, especially the small intricate block in the north of Warren Wood which I'm sure came as just as much of a surprise to competitors as to me, given the dull plantation and open fields that surround it.
