I was born in Redhill, Surrey in 1977, and grew up in nearby Merstham where I still live. I have recently returned from Cambridge after submitting my PhD thesis as the culmination of eight happy years at Pembroke College, Cambridge. If you are interested in my research, which was conducted within the Polymer Fluids group in the Department of Chemical Engineering, you can read the summary of my thesis, or visit the Microscale Polymer Processing Project of which my work formed part. I have recently started working for Actica Consulting, an IT consultancy based in Guildford.
My principal interest outside work is orienteering, where as well as competing regularly I have helped to run Cambridge University Orienteering Club and West Anglian Orienteering Club. I am now a member of the ex-student club DrongO and Croydon Orienteering Club, and produce the newsletter Points East for the East Anglian Orienteering Association. Whilst at Cambridge I was President of the Pembroke Graduate Parlour.
About this site
This site was created as somewhere to share some of my photos, and to make some of my collection of orienteering statistics available just in case anyone else is interested. It is hosted, together with the DrongO, EAOA and Reigate Table Tennis League sites that I maintain, by NSDesign.
